About Mrs. Smith
Hello! My name is Mrs. Smith. I am originally from a small town in Northwest Ohio called Archbold. My family still resides there, including my parents and my 12-year-old brother Caden (see below). After high school, I attended Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.
From an early age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. Teachers can have such an influence in the lives of the next generation. As I got older, I developed a love for math and decided to combine these two passions. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan in the spring of 2010 with a degree in math education. My job search led me to Northwest Indiana. I was blessed with an 8th grade math position at Kankakee Valley Middle School and moved to Valparaiso in the fall of 2010. Since then, I have served as a member of the Professional Educators Partnership, taken on the role of math club sponsor, and assisted in coaching the 7th grade boys basketball team. My husband, Mr. Smith, is a math teacher at Chesterton High School. We were married in December 2012. We have one dog, a pitbull mix named Belle who is adorable and has lots of energy (see below). In my free time, I love to read, watch movies, and travel. |
